A New Title, UPDATES, and future plans!

I've changed it!! Never Ending Summers didn't have as much of a positive feel as I would have liked. Endless Summers is the new title... (let's see how long this one lasts!)

UPDATES --- School has started and is in FULL swing. I don't know anyone more dedicated and more motivated!! David studys all morning, all afternoon, and all night. NON STOP. Organic Chemistry, Anatomy, Molecular Biology?! Okay... I didn't even know that there were different kinds of Chemistry!! DAT (dental admission test) preparation, Dental Society Presidency, Low Income Dental Clinic, AND a dental waxing class. It's hard. and it's long. and we aren't together as much as I would like. but, we know that this is only temporary and it will secure the future Dr. David Summers, DDS that he (we) dreams of!

Me? Well, it's been a rollercoaster of the past couple of months. In one of my previous posts I let the cat out of the bag and said that David and I have been trying to make "something." Well, we aren't talking about making cupcakes here people! We have been trying to start our family for almost a year now. Tough? Absolutely. (But definitely fun!!) ... anyway, it's been a little harder for us than the average couple. (...and here I go, about to give you way more information than you probably want or care to hear, but... ) I'm broken. Well, just temorarily. I haven't had my monthly "visitor" for about a year and a half. YIKES, huh? Well, I'm a runner. Through and through. And because of this, my system has completely shut down. I've seen a couple of doctors and the first one I went to told me to keep running and take the infertility medication, clomid. So thats exactly what I did. (Clomid is supposed to help you ovulate). WELL, clomid didn't work for me. I went and saw another doctor and once I told him that I haven't had a period in over a year he immediately asked me if I was a runner. I told him I was and all he could say was "Stop." SO, I have. I feel lazy. I feel glutenous. BUT, I think David is going to make one adorable little kid, and make one amazing father, so it's worth it. Raise your glasses, because here's to getting that dreadful visitor back!

Now that we have LESS than a year left of Rexburg-living (WHOO!!!!), we've been thinking about our plans after we have stepped our final steps on the BYU-I campus. Well, grad school, of course! We are applying to seven different dental schools (Arizona, Ohio, OHSU, Virginia, Southern CA, UNLV, Western, and UW) ... UW is our first pic, but we will be happy wherever the Lord takes us. We will have about a year and a half gap in between BYU-I and dental school, so... (drum roll, please) LEAVENWORTH here we come!! David's parents live up in Leavenworth and it is SO beautiful up there! I can hardly wait!! Dad, I hope that you are ready to do some hiking, some rafting, and fishing!! Get your lederhosen ready!

ABBA Mania!!

The name just says it all, doesn't it?! Friday night David and I went to dinner and a show! Dinner was at Pita Pit (my FAVORITE place. Their BBQ chicken salad is to DIE for!!!) and ABBA Mania was our show (not the actual group, ABBA, but some darn good impersonators)! I've never listened to ABBA, and would not say that I am a fan. BUT, if you know me, you will know that I am OBSESSED with the musical Mamma Mia. Yes. The Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan version. I can't get enough it. I know I might get stoned for saying this, but I think their version is better than ABBA's. Anyway, my cute husband and I had front row seats for the event... and I was excited. Their first song? Dancing Queen. Oh yes. Dancing Queen. The performers told us that they were married, just like the members of original ABBA, but David and I weren't buying it. The blonde girl was WAY cuter than the blonde guitarist... and I just don't see how that would work out. For their encore they did Dancing Queen again and invited all the girls 10 and under to join them on stage. Come on... everyone knows I could pass for a 10 year old... and I desperately wanted to get on stage!! Anyway, it was a great night. We bumped into some unlikely attendees, like Davids O-Chem teacher, Bro. Sargent... and my boss... we will forever have blackmail over them. Life is good.

Eastern Idaho State Fair

Because we won't be living in Rexburg this time next year, David and I want to do everything that we can while we have the chance. One of those things was the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot. Let's make something very, very clear... this was nothing like the Puyallup fair... but it was still fun! They had some really, really neat exhibits that you wouldn't see in WA... like the HUGE photography exhibit. I just don't think that there are a quarter of the photographers in WA as there are here. Anyhoo, I told David that I wasn't leaving until he won me something. He got SO close at this one ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

You have to shoot the entire star out of the target. He had just a sliver of the star left, but they wouldn't give it to him! He is so cute!! He was so determined!!! We decided to play just one more game. You know... the one where you shoot water into the little hole and then a balloon fills up... anyway, I WON!! Whoo hoo! I won my own stuffed animal! and then I got to thinking... there is NO way that I beat David. So I asked him if he let me win... and he got a cute smirk on his face and told me "no." Didn't I marry the sweetest man?! So, he really did win me something :) But I think at the end of the day, I am still the winner. I took home the best prize... him :)

A little rendezvous to Salt Lake City

And oh what a rendeavoux it was... with my all of my favorite people, all in one place. My mom planned a business trip in SLC to visit some of her agents, and with us only living 3 hours away... you better believe we planned on meeting her down there for the weekend. The best part? My dad came too! Just to spend the holiday weekend with us! As a side note... I was/am feeling incredibly discouraged by Davids and my MANY attempts to make "something" (hint, hint) and all of the stress that come with it... so I definitely needed this relaxing weekend with my parents. We met my mom at the hotel, dropped off our bags, and went to go pick up my dad at the airport. We decided to go to a little restaurant called "Robintino's" for dinner. My grandparents passed about 2 years ago, but one thing that I will always remember is that they would take us to Robintino's after they picked us up from the airport. My mom has continued this tradition. And I love her for it. On Friday we decided to hit up the Gateway mall and see INCEPTION. Okay. Why is it that it took me so long to see this movie? It was amazing. But everyone already knows that.

Saturday was the ZOO day. and it was a HOT day. But hey, were we really expecting anything different in SLC? The greatest tragedy of this trip was that David and I forgot our CAMERA! Which made me come up with a phenomenal invention ... disposable digital cameras that comes with a disposable memory card! Anyway, my beautiful mom took this picture on her phone... and I stole it. Here is a mama elephant and her calf... if it looks like the mama is trying to stomp her baby, don't worry, she is.

Day three was all about DINOS. Thats right ladies and gentleman, we went to the Dino Park. Now, this is real life Jurassic Park kind of stuff... just without the chance of being eaten. This was pretty darn fun because we used to go here all the time when I was younger. The dinosaurs seemed a lot bigger back then... hmm... anyway, here are a few pictures!                            

Monday morning we went to Temple Square, and as we were taking in the beauty of the Christus in the vistors center, a couple of Sisters asked us if we would like to see a presentation on the family. This is a rather new presentation that they started doing... and it was one of my favorite parts of this trip. It was a really neat presentation about not only the importance of the family, but also about how the family is eternal and we will see our loved ones who have passed again. This is such a comfort to me. As usual, I bawled like a baby through the whole thing. And then (quicker than I liked...) it was time to say goodbye to my parents for another extended period of time (approximately 4 months until Christmas). Once again, I bawled like a baby. As usual. But then, my WONDERFUL husband took me shopping. Which usually doesn't cheer me up... but this time it did. We went to the HUGE outlet mall in Park City... and he spoiled me. :) I love him. He is my best friend and I am so lucky to be with the funniest, kindest and most loving man in the entire world. He loves my imperfections and he embraces my silliness. We are only a tiny centimeter in our journey of eternity together... and I am enjoying every moment of it.
